Driving Directions

From the North: Follow DuSable Lake Shore Dr. Turn right onto E 57th Dr. Continue into S Cornell Dr. Continue onto Midway Plaisance. Turn right onto S Woodlawn Ave. Venue will be on your left.

From the South: Follow I-94. Use the right lane to keep right at the fork and stay on I-94 W. Take exit 58A toward 59th St. Turn right onto S Martin Luther King Dr. Turn left onto E Best Dr. Continue on Midway Plaisance. Turn left onto S Woodlawn Ave. Venue is on the left.

From the West: Follow I-290 E to W Ida B. Wells Dr. Take S Columbus Dr to DuSable Lake Shore Dr. Turn right onto E 57th Dr. Continue into S Cornell Dr. Continue onto Midway Plaisance. Turn right onto S Woodlawn Ave. Venue will be on your left.

Parking

University of Chicago Parking Information.

Street Parking: Free street parking is available on E 59th St, S Woodlawn Ave, and many other streets adjacent to the venue.

Parking Lot: The Lexington parking lot (5835 S. University Avenue) immediately to the west of the chapel has reserved accessible spaces and a ramp to the designated entrance. This lot is managed by the Parking Office. It is generally restricted to pre-issued permit parking during the day, but open to the public on evenings and weekends when the gate will open automatically.

Please note: Rockefeller Memorial Chapel’s circle drive on the East side of the building allows temporary vehicle drop-off for patrons needing ramp access to the building.

Restrooms

All-Gender: There are no All-Gender or Single-User restrooms available; we encourage patrons to use the restrooms they are most comfortable with.

Gendered: Men’s & Women’s restrooms available on the first floor and lower level.

Venue Accessibility

Building Entrance (Main): on the first floor up 12 steps from street level.

Accessible Building Entrance (West Side of Chapel): West side of building at street level with power assist door operator. The Lexington parking lot (5835 S. University Avenue) immediately to the west of the chapel has reserved accessible spaces and a ramp to the designated entrance.

Accessible Building Entrance (East Side of Chapel): East side of building at street level with ramp. The circle drive on the east side of the building (5878 S Woodlawn Ave) is also available for vehicle drop-offs, though extended parking is prohibited.

Chapel: on the first floor. Seating is accessed via 1 flat aisle. There are spaces for no-transfer seating in the front row or back row. Transfer seating is available along the aisles.
