Photographer Sandra Steinbrecher: Reimagining The Salt Shed
Optional Book

The Salt Shed
By Sandra Steinbrecher
About the Event:
Join us as Chicago-based documentary photographer Sandra Steinbrecher discusses her newest book, The Salt Shed, a nearly two-year-long photo documentation project that chronicled the deconstruction, reconstruction, and reinvigoration of the former Morton Salt Warehouse, a familiar staple along I-90 and Elston Avenue. Now a stunning music venue, Steinbrecher takes us behind the scenes of the Salt Shed through breathtaking photos and interviews with the people who made the project possible — from architects and developers to the workers who did the daily labor — all while honoring its history and working-class roots.
- We are pleased to partner with the Seminary Co-op Bookstores, the country’s first not-for-profit bookstore.
