@MayorEmanuel Creator, Dan Sinker
Dan Sinker did not intend to create an Internet phenomenon, but when he Tweeted his first 140 obscenity-laced characters as @MayorEmanuel, the Columbia College associate professor launched one of the first long-form literary successes ever to take over Twitter. A fictional account, @MayorEmanuel chronicled the adventures of former White House chief-of-staff and then Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel. Sinker's inside joke evolved into a multi-character epic story and took on new life as an experiment in the written form. At this special literary event, Sinker shares his insights on how new media, like Twitter, are changing how we write, while providing writers with entirely new methods of creative expression.
