Matthew Gutmann: Men are Animals
What is it with men? They love to show off, itch for a fight, and always think about sex. Or do they? Brown University anthropologist Matthew Gutmann is a pioneer in the field of men's studies. Having researched machismo in Latin America and gender roles in the US military, he has a fascinating perspective on what influences men's behavior. Join him as he draws on evidence from both nature and culture and poses a daring question: might women be animals, too?
This program is presented in partnership with the Cogut Center for the Humanities at Brown University.
