Mark Doty and Achy Obejas: Queer Lyrics
Lambda Literary Award-winning authors Mark Doty and Achy Obejas read from and discuss their latest work. They address how writers grapple with questions of social, political, and cultural resonance surrounding the LGBTQ experience. The writers also contemplate homosexuality and societal perceptions of it over the past several decades, from lesbian separatism across the AIDS epidemic to its present particular interdisciplinary role within the academy. C. C. Carter moderates and contributes insights from her own experiences, including her greater self-awareness as a lesbian at a womens college.
