The Making of a National Institution with Lonnie G. Bunch III
Lonnie G. Bunch III, former president of the Chicago Historical Society, is the founding director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The latest addition to the National Mall, the Smithsonian’s 19th museum, is slated to open by spring of 2016. Join him as he discusses his vision for this monument to African American culture, shares his strategy for amassing the collection, and previews the building’s stunning architecture.
