Lifeworlds of Islam
Starting with his first book, The Social Origins of Islam, Mohammed Bamyeh has situated Islam within political, sociological, historical, literary, anthropological, and economic contexts. He comes to CHF to discuss his forthcoming work, 'Lifeworlds of Islam', which traces Islam's broad historical trajectories and explores the faith not as a singular set of beliefs, but as a flexible system that has been put to use in everyday life in different times and places as a force for social movements, public philosophy, and global order.
