Renowned for their unusual instrumentation and creative partnerships with today’s leading composers, Chicago’s eighth blackbird fuses musical virtuosity with the sensibility of avant-garde theater. Ensemble members Lisa Kaplan (piano) and Matthew Duvall (percussion) discuss their journey from the rehearsal rooms of Oberlin College to the world’s smartest and most sophisticated venues for contemporary classical music.
