"[My artwork is] gonna be political, it's gonna be social justice, it's gonna be Blackness, it's gonna be all these things, but more than anything it's gonna be Bianca Xunise." — Bianca Xunise at CHF

Bianca Xunise is a cartoonist based out of Chicago, Illinois. Her work primarily focuses on the plight, joy, and daily struggles of young Black outcasts. In 2017 Xunise earned an Ignatz for Promising New Talent for her comic Say Her Name, an autobiographical story of police brutality and social justice. Xunise has collaborated with Vogue, The Washington Post, The Nib, and Believer Magazine. She is also a contributor to the book How We Fight Supremacy: A Field Guide to Black Resistance along with Ta-Nehisi Coates, Tarana Burk, and Harry Belafonte. As of 2020 Bianca became the second nationally syndicated Black female cartoonist when she joined the comic strip "Six Chix" as their first Black creator in their 20 year run. Her Tuesday strip continues to spark viral sensations all over the world. When she’s not doodling away, Bianca is usually somewhere dreaming of the Chicago Mothman.
