Ben Marcus’s storytelling is surreal, tender, and terrifying. The author of "The Age of Wire and String," widely considered a bible of experimental writing, is a master of acutely observed investigations into human vulnerability and failure. In his new story collection, "Leaving the Sea," Marcus proves again that the most absurd and alien predicaments can capture the deepest truths. Adam Levin, author of "The Instructions" and "Hot Pink," joins Marcus for a conversation.
