Is Believing a Matter of Feeling?
Many of us shy away from saying what we “believe” but are much more open about how or what we "feel." Does that suggest some fundamental shift within Christianity and perhaps our social lives, too? David Hall, professor at Harvard's Divinity School and one of our great historians of religion, comes to CHF to give a broad view of how that change also contains a continuity, a story that reaches back to the arrival of Europeans, and especially the Puritans, to North America in the 17th century.
This program is presented in partnership with the Karla Scherer Center for the Study of American Culture at the University of Chicago and The Newberry Library.
