Youth Leading Change
About the Event:
Youth organizers and activists were at the center of social movements that defined 2020. Last summer, CHF spoke to a panel of youth activists about their participation in protest movements, community organizing, and mutual aid. Now, for the first Neighborhood program of 2021, youth leaders look back on the formative events of last spring and summer, and share how those experiences continue to influence the work they are doing in their communities. Join CHF for a conversation with Taty Chante (Brave Space Alliance), Oscar Sanchez (Alliance of the Southeast), and Damayanti Wallace (GoodKids MadCity). Educator and multimedia producer Maira Khwaja (Invisible Institute) moderates this panel.

[Event tile image description: The event image at the top left of the event page is a photograph of a protestor, their back turned away from the camera, holding up a sign in their gloved right hand that reads: “Do not wait for leaders, become them,” in black text on white paper. In front of the protestor is a traffic light that has turned green. Fog and lights from buildings turn the nighttime backdrop into a hazy orange color. Photo credit: Unsplash]
