About the Event:

International bestselling author Yann Martel joins us to discuss his newest work, Son of Nobody, a brilliant retelling of the Trojan War from the perspective of two commoners: an ancient soldier and a modern scholar. He takes us from the plains of Troy to the halls of Oxford, from the classical to the contemporary, all while exploring the universal themes of regret, love, ambition, and grief, no matter the millenia.

  • Chicago Humanities is pleased to partner with Chicago’s Seminary Co-op Bookstores, the country’s first not-for-profit bookstore.
  • Pre-order Son of Nobody through the Chicago Humanities box office and save up to 20% while supporting local, independent bookselling. Add books to your cart when adding tickets. Your PDF ticket will contain a book voucher, which you show to the bookseller on-site to pick up your book(s).
