What’s Next: Michael Roth on Public Speech
About the Event:
In recent years, universities have been at the center of a divisive debate around free speech and political correctness. In his book Safe Enough Spaces, Wesleyan University President Michael Roth argues that college campuses should be beacons of empathy and inclusion where diversity is celebrated and intellectual debate encouraged. More recently, Roth has been working to provide a safe enough campus during this pandemic. As colleges prepare for an entirely new semester, join Roth for a discussion about how to step outside the comfort zone of your own world view without entirely jettisoning the protections of a safe (enough) space.
