The Second Dream: La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela
About the Event:
Experience the Midwest premiere of legendary minimalist composer La Monte Young’s The Melodic Version (1984) of The Second Dream of The High-Tension Line Stepdown Transformer from The Four Dreams of China (1962) in Dream Light. This transformative work, performed by The Theater of Eternal Music Brass Ensemble, bathes the audience in magenta light designed by visual artist Marian Zazeela while music from 8 trumpets floods the space. Join Chicago Humanities for a wholly unique experience that will transport listeners on an exploration of the subtleties of light and sound.
