About the Event:

The Pilsen Mural Tour is a 60-minute walking journey through one of Chicago’s most visually rich neighborhoods. Explore over 50 years of powerful murals that capture the history, culture, and resilience of Pilsen’s Mexican-American community.

Led by veteran mural guide and Pilsen resident Luis Tubens — who brings over 40 years of collective experience — this tour highlights the artistic and political significance of the neighborhood’s public art while addressing the ongoing impact of gentrification and urban change. From bold viaducts to tucked-away walls, discover why Pilsen holds the highest concentration of murals in the Midwest. Lace up your walking shoes — you’re stepping into a living gallery where every mural tells a story.

Pilsen / Little Village Day is generously supported in part by ITW, the Terra Foundation for American Art, and Wintrust.
