Jane Elliott: The Anatomy of Prejudice

About the Event:

Join CHF for an immersive, interactive program with Jane Elliott, one of the world’s foremost antiracist activists. Nearly fifty years ago, in response to Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, Elliott started teaching “Blue eyes - Brown eyes,” a lesson plan that had students experience the realities of discrimination by assigning them different roles based on a random trait: Eye color. The exercise drew Elliott national attention and began her career as an antiracist activist. In her five-decade career, Elliott has worked to expose prejudice, both implicit and overt, and has developed diversity training curriculum now taught around the world. In this fully participatory, two-hour program, Elliott will lead us through a reflection on our own prejudices - don’t miss an experience that is sure to be thought-provoking and inspiring alike.
