George Saunders: A Swim in a Pond in the Rain
About the Event:
George Saunders, author of the Man Booker Prize winning Lincoln in the Bardo, joins CHF for a conversation about his new book A Swim in a Pond in the Rain. A reflection on Saunders’s experience teaching Russian short stories at Syracuse University, this essay collection is a master class in the art of fiction. With the help of Russian literary giants like Chekhov and Tolstoy, Saunders and CHF Marilynn Thoma Artistic Director Alison Cuddy explain what great writing entails, why it endures, and how it makes genuine connection possible.
