About the Event:

Since the publication of her groundbreaking works Bad Feminist and Hunger, Roxane Gay continues to tackle big issues in society such as state-sponsored violence, mass shootings, and women’s rights. She returns with her newest work, Opinions, featuring essays on culture, politics, the limits of empathy, and whether you can tell your co-worker her perfume is too strong. Gay joins Chicago author Lindsay Hunter (who appears at Chicago Humanities with her latest novel Hot Springs Drive, published by the new Roxane Gay Books imprint) for a conversation on politics, feminism, the culture wars, and civil rights, as they reflect on the past decade in America and where we go from here.
