What’s Next: Democracy
About the Event:
This election season has some fearing that American democracy is in deep peril, as candidates and voters navigate a series of overlapping crises around public health, economic and racial inequality, political polarization, and voter suppression. To understand what’s next, CHF convenes some of the authors behind Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century, a recent report from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAA&S). Join Chair of the AAA&S Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship Eric Liu and Commission members Pete Peterson and Hahrie Han for a conversation about our country’s future. This panel is moderated by Democracy Program Director at the Joyce Foundation Carrie L. Davis.
