Chris Hedges on America’s Prison System
About the Event:
For nearly a decade, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges has taught college courses in drama, literature, philosophy, and history within New Jersey’s prison system. In his latest book Our Class, Hedges reflects on his experience teaching a course at East Jersey State Prison, where his students began writing a now-published play about the human toll of cyclical and systemic incarceration and poverty. At CHF, Hedges discusses the injustices of America’s prison industrial complex that his student’s stories lay bare. He is joined in conversation by human and civil rights lawyer G. Flint Taylor.
