This is a Rehearsal: Catalogue Launch and Conversation
About the Event:
Join the co-directors of Chicago-based Floating Museum — Andrew Schachman, Faheem Majeed, and Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spofford — for an expansive conversation about design as an iterative process to explore architecture, cities, and the social, ecological, economic, and political forces that shape them.
Floating Museum served as artistic directors of the 2023 Chicago Architecture Biennial, This is a Rehearsal, which invited audiences to consider cities as a continuous process rather than an enduring object. This conversation marks the release of the catalogue for This is a Rehearsal, which documents and interprets the contributions of 80 local and global participants whose work challenged conventional understandings of how cities function, who plays a role in shaping them, and how proposed solutions might respond to the overlapping crises of contemporary life.
Presented as part of the sixth edition of the Chicago Architecture Biennial. Running September 19, 2025 through February 28, 2026 at locations across Chicago, SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change engages timely global issues through the lens of architecture and design.
This event is presented in partnership with Illinois Tech and the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
