Casa Kahlo: Frida Kahlo's Home and Sanctuary
By Mara Romeo Kahlo, Mara de Anda Romeo, and Frida Hentschel Romeo
About the Event:
Join us in conversation with the authors of the new book Casa Kahlo — Mara Romeo Kahlo, Mara de Anda Romeo, and Frida Hentschel Romeo, the great-nieces of Frida Kahlo, who have opened the doors to the artist's family home and personal sanctuary for the first time in nearly 100 years. This groundbreaking book offers a glimpse into Casa Roja, the family home where Frida found refuge from her tumultuous public life with Diego Rivera, taught art classes in the garden, and shared her deepest joys with her sisters, friends, and lovers. Drawing from a remarkable private archive of never-before-published letters, photographs, early artworks, and personal treasures, Casa Kahlo presents a deeply personal perspective on the artist’s life, enriched by the authors’ unique connection to her legacy.
