Carlo Rotella on South Shore

About the Event:

Few Chicago neighborhoods have changed more over time than South Shore has, and few people know more about this evolution than Carlo Rotella. Raised in South Shore, Rotella, now a professor at Boston College, returned to the neighborhood to research his latest book, The World Is Always Coming to an End. Part memoir, part urban history, Rotella’s book is an evocative reminder of the powerful ways neighborhoods shape our lives. Join Rotella in the heart of South Shore for a discussion of the historic neighborhood’s past, present, and future. Current residents are invited to come and share their thoughts, experiences, and memories.

All attendees of this program are invited to stay for an afterparty with South Side Soul at 8:00pm.

Preorder your copy of The World Is Always Coming to an End: Pulling Together and Apart In a Chicago Neighborhood through the CHF box office and save 20%.

South Shore Night recognizes the many contributions made to our community by The Chicago Community Trust. The evening is presented by the Trust in partnership with The Neighborhood Network Alliance and the Chicago Park District.
