The 2013 Stages, Sights & Sounds festival takes on fairy tales. Six companies from around the world come to Chicago to tell treasured stories in ways classic and new, delighting children and adults alike.
Fairy tales cross cultural boundaries and create shared experiences in ways that many other mediums do not. At Stages, Sights & Sounds 2013, we present vastly different versions of “Hansel and Gretel” from Canada and Switzerland, “Sleeping Beauty” from Mexico, and brand-new fairy tales from Scotland and the United States. You can see why we describe the entire festival with the phrase global origins, gloriously original.
